Congratulations CHLOE MAX LANG! Officially announced April 14th, talented Chloe Lang from the Dance Connection of East Haven, CT was chosen over 800+ other applicants and audition hopefuls to be the brand-new Stephanie in the latest production of LazyTown which began filming this week.

In partnership with its new home on PBS Kids ‘Sprout’ channel, LazyTown Entertainment is hoping to really capitalize on the American market this time around —Something that was largely ignored by Viacom/Nick Jr.  for reasons even we can’t fully comprehend.

3/21 -- As the saying goes ‘The show must go on’ and it will ....but without Julianna Rose Mauriello

I really wanted to be sharing my newly updated BING BANG INTERNATIONAL libraries tonight, but I also didn’t much feel like bringing all of you up just to let you all fall right back down by mixing something wonderful with something I confirmed today that’s not so great.

The speculation and rumors are apparently over. Although LazyTown’s awaited, upcoming third season (that will officially begin production in April) will indeed see Magnús Scheving and Stefán Karl reprise their respectful characters, we won’t be able to say the same about the spunky pink-haired girl who told us all that there was ‘Always a Way’. LazyTown’s new season will indeed feature a brand-new Stephanie.

To be honest, I can’t say that part of me didn’t already know this. I first heard about Julianna and auditions going on for a new Stephanie a few months ago. I hadn’t been able to confirm the allegation though which ultimately allowed the rest of me to really not want it to be true. After all, both Latibær stage play versions of Solla (Stephanie) had been played by adults and besides, I’ve known plenty of other children’s programming that present adults in childish, kid-friendly nature —Steve from Blue’s Clues or the cast of the Fresh Beat Band. And what about the Doodlebops? I reasoned then that if Julianna was still willing to play the part of Stephanie that there should be no reason at all why she couldn’t still do that. But then that IS just it. Having played the role for 6 years, turning 21 this May, and attending college to study Psychology,  Julianna feels she has outgrown the part and has opted instead to move on in her career.
